WPT Nonwovens Corporation has invested $18.5 million in a new man-made fiber (MMF) nonwoven manufacturing line that will add 35 new jobs to the existing WPT workforce of 110 employees. The new manufacturing line will be housed in a newly constructed 75,000 square feet building owned by WPT Nonwovens. For the Beaver Dam, KY, community, the new manufacturing line and brand new facility means a robust new source for economic growth. It also means a significant amount of new job opportunities for those in the area. Of the company’s recent expansion, Travis Robbins, the president of WPT Nonwovens Corporation, says, “WPT is excited to meet the growing demand for American-made nonwovens.” WPT is dedicated to expanding its product lines and capabilities in the U.S. with a domestic supply chain ensuring they create a high level of reliability, quality, and service customers can depend on as they build their brands, launch new products, and reach their commercial growth targets. WPT Nonwovens Corporation is a specialist not only for filtration media but also for nonwovens used in the medical, personal protective equipment (PPE), hygiene and industrial sectors. The U.S.-based, third generation family-owned company has quickly become a trusted supplier of Berry Amendment-compliant man-made fiber (MMF) nonwoven products. The new thermobonding line for nonwoven filter media and hygiene fabrics is planned to be operational starting in April 2023, adding more than 10,000 per annum metric tons of additional capacity. WPT partnered with Trützschler Nonwovens, which teamed up with Schott & Meissner to deliver a state-of- the-art, high-capacity line including the T-Blend fiber preparation system, two TWF-NC roller cards and Schott & Meissner’s high-speed “Speedliner” belt oven. Air conditioning systems are not only an integral part of many buildings all over the world. They are vital components in cars, trucks, planes and other. Home and Vehicle Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems often rely on thermo- or through-air bonded nonwovens for air filtering. The Trützschler machinery has been selected to ensure reliable fiber preparation and web forming processes for various special, technically demanding filtration media.
